RF, Digital Radio and
Metamaterial Fundamentals
Final Project
Overview
Work individually.
The objective of this project is to write a paper and do a
presentation summarizing the important points from a published paper on
an emerging technology.
NOTE: Use the Project Report Template .
IN NO CASE may code or files be exchanged between students, and
each student must answer the questions themselves and do their own
plots, NO COPYING of any sort! Nevertheless, students are
encouraged to collaborate in the lab session.
Final Project
- You are to review and summarize a paper on an emerging technology
- You must choose a paper from the list below, or ask the instructor to approve a paer not on the list
- The primary goal of your paper and presentation will be for you to identify and clearly summarize the key important points discussed in a published paper on an emerging technology
- Work individually, not in groups
Schedule
- Week 1:
- Read your assigned paper, and discuss with the instructor your opinion of what the key points may be
- Feedback from the instructor can help you avoid wasted effort on lesser important points within any paper
- Last day of class:
- A 2-page ieee-format paper: worth 1 project grade
- The paper must review and summarize the key important points discussed in your assigned paper for review
- The paper must use the format below
- Hardcopy turned in
- pdf of paper emailed to instructor
- Minimum required content for your report and demos
- Several key equations with description
- LEGIBLE snapshots of several key figures from the paper, with appropriate caption (with citation in caption!)
- Presentation during last day of class: worth 1 project grade
- A 7-minute live presentation that reviews and summarizes the key important points
discussed in your assigned paper for review
- Hardcopy turned in
- Powerpoint slides emailed to instructor
- Final Exam Period:
- Video upload and peer review: worth 1/2 project grade BONUS POINTS
- Video upload:
- Before 6 PM of the night before final exam in Fall 2018,
upload a video presentation to canvas
- Instructions are on the canvas website
- Peer review:
- Within first 90 minutes of beginning of final exam, conduct your peer reviews as assigned
