Problem Resolution


  • You must be factual, complete, and specific (dates, etc.). Vague and nebulous requests will be ignored. It is incumbent on you to make your case.

  • Any unprofessional remarks will result in any requests being disregarded, or other action as deemed appropriate.

  • Students making complaint must be willing to provide testimony in any hearing before the Academic Integrity Board, as set forth in the Code of Student Academic Integrity on the university website.

  • If members of a group are dissatisfied with the work of one member in their group, the remaining members of the group may submit a written and signed memo to the instructor stating the problem and what remedy they seek. A copy of the memo must also be sent to all students involved in the dispute and to the instructor. At the instructor's discretion, the student may be removed from the group and assigned to an independent project, or other action as deemed appropriate. The written memo MUST also be sent by email to ALL members of ALL groups that may be involved and to the instructor, before any action may be taken. The memo and email must take place in a timely manner.

  • During the last week of the semester, if a group is dissatisfied with one member's participation, the remaining members of the group may submit a written and signed memo to the instructor stating the problem, and may submit a final report omitting the name of the one member. A copy of the memo must also be sent to all students involved in the dispute and to the instructor. At the instructor's discretion, the student may be removed from the group, receive a reduced grade, receive an incomplete for the course, or other action as deemed appropriate. The written memo MUST also be sent by email to ALL members of ALL groups that may be involved and to the instructor, before any action may be taken. The memo and email must take place in a timely manner.

  • If a member of a group is dissatisfied with the other members of the group, the member may submit a written and signed memo to the instructor stating the problem. A copy of the memo must also be sent to all students involved in the dispute and to the instructor. At the instructor's discretion, the student may join another group, or be assigned to an independent project, or other action as deemed appropriate. The written memo MUST also be sent by email to ALL members of ALL groups that may be involved and to the instructor, before any action may be taken. The memo and email must take place in a timely manner.

  • Any student wishing to dispute the actions, email, or memos submitted by other students, may do so in writing by submitting a written and signed memo to the instructor stating the problem. A copy of the memo must also be sent to all students involved in the dispute and to the instructor. At the instructor's discretion, the student may join another group, or be assigned to an independent project, or other action as deemed appropriate. The written memo MUST also be sent by email to ALL members of ALL groups that may be involved and to the instructor, before any action may be taken. The memo and email must take place in a timely manner, within 72 hours of receiving the latest email or memo from any other students involved in the dispute.

  • For any other requests pertaining to project groups, follow the procedures outlined above.

  • All memos must be signed by ALL of members making the request.
